52 x Beethoven
To mark the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, the Swiss music magazine looked at one of his compositions every week in 2020.
Every Friday from January 3 to December 25, 2020, we published an easy-to-read text about a Beethoven work. The selection included well-known as well as little-known or even marginal compositions. Some reflected the course of the year or had a connection to Switzerland.
Below the texts, an online player leads to suitable recordings. A selection was printed in the December 2020 issue.
The author of these texts, Michael Kube, is a musicologist and editor, is involved in music education and teaches at the Stuttgart University of Music and at the University of Würzburg. He does not provide analyses of works, as can be found in so many compendiums, but instead looks for the stories behind the notes.
The project was supported by the Oertli Foundation in 2020. Thank you very much!
