According to a press release from the Davos Festival, the central concern of the new artistic director Reto Bieri is to open up and involve the Davos population. For example, there will be free short and spontaneous concerts on three "open stages" with the young festival musicians as well as children and young people from the Davos Music School. The Davos Festival Chamber Choir was newly founded, which offers open singing for everyone under the direction of Andreas Felber.

The Davos Festival Camerata, an orchestra conducted by violinist Ilya Gringolts and made up of students from European universities, is also new. The "Composer in Residence" is Tigran Mansurian, in whose works, as with many other composers, moments of pause play an important role.

Davos hotels offer special arrangements for readers of the Schweizer Musikzeitung. Interested parties should contact the hotels directly with the reference: Readers' offer music newspaper - Davos Festival. A PDF with corresponding offers can be downloaded here can be downloaded.
