Viola music from Swiss publishers
The first editions by Alexander Presuhn published by Musik4Viola and the editions of Richard Lane's pieces published by Editions Bim also expand the repertoire for amateurs.

The very active website Music4Viola has also started publishing in collaboration with Amadeus-Verlag. The first three works published by Music4Viola are first editions by the Graz violist Alexander Presuhn (1870-1950), who wrote over 50 pieces of incidental music as director of the Stuttgart State Theater. His pleasing short pieces for viola and piano are suitable for any amateur, have good ideas, but are somewhat short-winded. The 988-bar Partita for string trio consists of twelve fugues in different keys, which alternate rondo-like with baroque dance movements. The passacaglia at the end makes everyone sweat, even the cello for four bars.
The French-speaking Swiss publishing house Editions Bim has been in existence for 50 years. It was founded as Bureau d'Informations Musicales, mainly for brass instruments. Since 2003 it has also been publishing works for strings. Currently Quarteta sonata for four violas, and Tryptycha suite for six violas by Richard Lane. The pieces are simple and easy to understand, even for amateurs. Richard Lane (1933-2004), an American composer from New Jersey, also wrote the viola solo in 1990. Aria and Allegro with string orchestra or piano accompaniment in E minor, which, in the style of Vieuxtemps, uses the full range of the viola rhapsodically and melodically in exciting sequences.
