Pro Helvetia adjusts its commitment to Russia
The national cultural foundation Pro Helvetia no longer supports public events such as concerts, exhibitions or festivals in Russia. However, cultural exchange will continue to be cultivated, mainly via digital formats.
According to its press release, the foundation will develop research-based and process-oriented formats that "serve the professional development of artists and allow them to exchange ideas about their work, even in an uncertain and socially and politically complex environment".
The Moscow liaison office will adapt its activities to promote and disseminate Swiss art and culture - with online programming and experiments in new digital or hybrid formats. Pro Helvetia Moscow is committed to "maintaining links with former partners who have had to relocate to another country".
Cooperation with the Russian art diaspora is intended to increase the visibility of Swiss art and cultural projects in regions that are not geographically connected to Russia.
