Two thirds of respondents rate the ability to cover regular living expenses (housing, social and health insurance, childcare, etc.) from their income from freelance work negatively. 60 percent of respondents also rate the possibility of making contributions to their preventive medical care from their income from freelance work negatively. Three quarters of respondents also rate their ability to build up reserves for periods of unemployment from their income from freelance work negatively.

The employment conditions for freelancers are unacceptable in some cases. In the worst case, half of the respondents are paid less than 50 percent of the recommended sample fee. In the best case (sample), only half of the respondents work under conditions that exceed the minimum recommended fee, while just under 50 percent work under worse conditions.
