Canton Valais supports the next generation of artists
The canton of Valais aims to promote young professional artists by giving them the opportunity to develop a project with the support of professional personalities or cultural institutions.
According to the canton's press release, the selected projects will last between one and six months and take place until the end of 2023. They are intended to enable artists to further develop their skills and promote their integration into the professional world. A total of CHF 400,000 has been earmarked for this program. All areas supported by the Department of Culture are included.
With "Generation Change 2019-2021", young cultural practitioners can develop a project with the support of a professional cultural institution or company, a recognized professional artist or a proven cultural practitioner. The selected partners undertake to accompany the young cultural practitioners in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.
To benefit from the support program, cultural professionals must present a project that favors their integration into the professional world or enables them to develop additional skills (communication, fundraising, technology, etc.) and an understanding of the cultural market and its challenges through practical experience.
Applications for "Generation Change 2019-2021" support must be submitted by October 15, 2021 on the platform www.vs-myculture.ch be submitted.
