Music industry slowly wakes up again
The Federal Council's latest regulations mean that concert plans are being made again. The music festival week will take place in Meiringen in July, and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich is also planning to offer concerts again.
The Meiringen Music Festival Week will be one of the few summer festivals to open its doors and play live music. The size of the event means that the new audience restrictions and safety regulations can be adhered to.
The Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich also plans to resume operations in a reduced form. The first concerts will be heard in the Tonhalle Maag from mid-June. Chief conductor and music director Paavo Järvi will be able to finish his first season in person. There will be musical surprises as early as next week during the opening of Festival X on June 5: instead of the planned opening concert on Münsterplatz, musicians from the orchestra will perform in a more intimate setting in various courtyards in Zurich. In the Kosmos event complex, the Zurich Festival will set up a studio from which live streaming will take place.
