"Impuls neue Musik" is being expanded

The Franco-German fund "Impuls neue Musik" promotes projects that facilitate exchange between musicians, composers and event organizers from France and Germany. A partnership with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is now expanding its radius.

The "Impuls neue Musik" fund is now also accepting funding applications from Switzerland for projects that strengthen the exchange between the French and German-speaking regions of the three neighboring countries Germany, France and Switzerland. The current call for applications was launched a few days ago and the next deadline for applications is May 22, 2018. The call for applications is launched annually. Applications must be submitted in Berlin.

The fund sees itself as a source of inspiration. The aim is a lively and long-term exchange between the German, Swiss and French music worlds. It is not just about the performance of contemporary works from the other culture, but also about a profound dialog.

According to Tobias Rothfahl (Pro Helvetia/Music), Pro Helvetia is "involved in the sponsorship of the fund and would like to open the doors to this international funding network for the Swiss music scene". The pilot phase of the project is limited to three years.

The artistic advisory board has sole decision-making authority. It consists of Barbara Barthelmes (music editor of the Berliner Festspiele), Matthias Osterwold (Klangspuren Schwaz) and Thomas Oesterdiekhoff (freelance) as well as Jean-Marc Bador (Orchestre National de Lyon), Jean-Luc Hervé (composer), Emmanuel Hondré (Philharmonie de Paris), Xavier Dayer (Suisa), Bernhard Günther (Wien Modern, Zeiträume Basel) and Thomas Meyer (music essayist). The three Swiss experts are new.
