Aarau enables coordination of events
Many cities are familiar with the problem: events are not coordinated enough, which means that there are always duplications, not least when it comes to concerts. The city of Aarau is tackling the problem with its own digital planning tool.
A new, digital cultural event planning system now connects the We Love Aarau event calendar (weloveaarau.ch) with forward-looking planning. According to the city's communication, the measure was provided for in the cultural concept of November 2014 and now contributes to the networking of cultural activities as a planning tool.
Event planning helps to avoid overlaps between vernissage and festival dates, events and premieres in Aarau and to improve the organization of individual cultural events. The tool eliminates the need for conventional planning via Excel spreadsheets by the cultural office.
Provisional and definitive event dates can be entered in the "We Love Aarau" online calendar well in advance and the dates of other organizers can be viewed. In the event of overlaps, those involved can exchange information and adjust their dates if necessary. The events and exhibitions from the planning tool are published directly in the "We Love Aarau calendar".
