Edusei becomes music theater director in Bern
Kevin John Edusei will become Chief Conductor of the Music Theater at the Konzert Theater Bern from the 2015/16 season. According to a statement from the theater, Edusei has signed a four-year contract.
This will intensify the collaboration between Konzert Theater Bern and the conductor. As principal guest conductor, Edusei's musical direction of Mozart's "Die Entführung aus dem Serail", Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos" and Britten's "Peter Grimes", among others, has been convincing in recent seasons. Last Saturday, Strauss' "Salome" celebrated its successful premiere under his musical direction.
Kevin John Edusei completed his studies in conducting, sound engineering and classical percussion in Berlin and The Hague. From 2004 to 2011 he was first conductor and
Deputy GMD at the theaters in Bielefeld and Augsburg, in 2008 he won first prize at the Dimitris Mitropoulos Conducting Competition. He was also sponsored by the German Music Council as part of the Conductors' Forum and included in the 'Maestros of Tomorrow' list of artists.
