Beautiful world, where are you? - Appl, Hölscher, Krijgh, Schuch

In this concert, some of the most beautiful works by Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann merge into a sound space that allows listeners to immerse themselves deeply in the world of Romanticism. The compositions by Schubert and Schumann, imbued with melancholy and longing, bring to life the atmosphere of the legendary Schubertiades - those intimate gatherings where Schubert and his friends made music and shared their thoughts on the world.

The tradition of the Schubertiades embodies the Romantic idea of music as an expression of individuality and inner experience. The artists take up this idea by dissolving the boundaries between song and chamber music and taking the audience on a journey through the emotional depths of Romanticism. Works in changing instrumentations and carefully coordinated arrangements weave vocal and instrumental music into a harmonious whole.
