Music Business Mindset (MBM talk) by Marc Bernegger

New songs, EPs, albums and concerts are created every day - almost always without this business mindset: structure & strategy, clarity & orientation, support & guidance. In the "MBM talk", we offer participants a platform where they can work on their dreams and goals in a focused and compact way - without a mainstream template, but with a neutral perspective and 30 years of experience. With critical questions and encouraging interpretations, we support the participants in their individual "roadmapping", entirely according to their wishes. We don't dictate anything, the artists determine the mode. Together, we break down challenges, prioritize to-dos and define realistic next steps.

In the "MBM talk" we demonstrate why it is so important to work on the business mindset. In our 1:1 talks, group discussions or plenary sessions, everyone experiences how so many new inputs and ideas can emerge in just one evening that they don't want to go home. The exchange among the participants gives them an inspiring and constructive insight into different ways forward. Artists from a wide range of styles and all stages of their careers gain momentum for their next concrete step in the can-do mindset and co-creative atmosphere of our workshops.

DIY promotion - What's your problem? by Milena Krstic

The difficulty of promoting yourself and your own projects: The title is
gimmicky, but as a former cultural journalist I like to play with the linguistic
Provocation. And as a workshop leader, I also want to challenge the participants.
Finally, it is important to find out what prevents them from talking freely about their own work.
speak. As a musician myself and a member of the Music Commission of the City of Bern since 2016, I am constantly in contact with people who share their art with the outside world.
Putting their own work into words makes many of them uncomfortable, whether in small talk, on social media or when writing applications. That's how I came up with the idea of creating this workshop. My main aim is for participants to recognize their resistance so that they can then use it to their advantage. Because self-promotion is something we can practise. My concept consists of two parts: First, we find out what prevents people from talking freely about their own music. Then I give them the tools to create their own professional press and communication material - in a way that suits them and their music.
