The Swiss Federal Orchestra Association (EOV) is the association for all amateur orchestras in Switzerland in the field of serious music. It currently has around 200 member orchestras, including around 40 youth orchestras.
The activities and services of the EOV are designed to facilitate, support and promote music-making in amateur orchestras at various levels. It is active in all parts of the country and communicates in German and French Language.
The EOV networks the orchestras with each other and maintains contacts with amateur orchestras at European level. It represents the members in politics and society, as well as vis-à-vis rights holders.
The association operates a music library that is open to EOV members and makes it easier for them to settle copyright with SUISA. It advises its members on musical, legal and organizational issues and regularly organizes specialist conferences, panel discussions and orchestra weeks.
