Arosa Culture

Arosa Culture is a non-profit and politically neutral association that organizes cultural events in Arosa (canton of Graubünden), including the Arosa Music Course Weeks (broad-based promotion) and the Arosa Music Academy (top-level promotion). The association has over 600 members, around two thirds of whom are locals and one third vacation guests and other culture enthusiasts from Switzerland and abroad.
The Arosa Music Course Weeks have been taking place since 1986. The program is aimed at amateurs, students and professional musicians of all ages. In total, over 100 courses are organized for a wide range of instruments as well as singing and dancing weeks. In addition, the Arosa Music Academy was launched in 2011. These are master classes in which young talents are strongly encouraged not only on their instrument, but also in chamber music.
Arosa Culture works very closely with the SJMW on the Arosa Music Weeks, the Arosa Music Academy and an orchestra project with young soloists. Graduates of the SJMW receive a substantial discount on the courses in Arosa or, in some cases, a scholarship. And in the orchestra project with young soloists, two to three SJMW prizewinners can rehearse with a professional orchestra from Arosa Kultur and give several concerts each year.
