The era of contemporary witnesses who can report on the National Socialist era from their own experience is coming to an end. Major changes are therefore imminent for the culture of remembrance in Germany. Monika Schoop is concerned with "taking a new path and capturing the social as well as the sonic and musical dimensions of the spaces of remembrance".

At the same time, the project aims to create a new platform in Lower Saxony to network key players in the culture of remembrance and initiate a dialog between academia and practice. Together with the Bergen-Belsen, Ahlem and Moringen memorials, workshops for sustainable remembrance work will be developed and organized. They serve to address the challenges of contemporary remembrance culture, reflect on the potential of music and sound for future remembrance work and develop strategies for action.
