ZHdK with new administrative director

The Board of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences has appointed Claire E. Schnyder as the new Administrative Director of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). She will take up her post on September 1, 2018.

Claire E. Schnyder was Deputy Director of Culture at the City of Zurich from 2011 to 2017 and was responsible for the business management aspects of the city's culture department and the city's own cultural enterprises. She is taking over the new position from Barbara Berger, who will lead the administration on an interim basis until then.

Claire E. Schnyder is an art historian. She acquired in-depth knowledge of public and private sector real estate management as an independent client representative in Berlin. She also managed the media center for the Swiss National Exhibition Expo.02.

With around 2100 Bachelor's and Master's students, the Zurich University of the Arts is one of the largest art academies in Europe. The study and research program covers the fields of design, film, fine arts, music, dance, theater, transdisciplinarity and the communication of art and design. The ZHdK is part of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZFH and is a state university with its own legal personality.
