On March 16, 2017, the awards will be presented in the first edition of the Swiss Cultural Challenge. This new competition for creative professionals was launched by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW last summer. The Swiss Cultural Challenge aims to help strengthen Switzerland as a creative and business location.

Fourteen young designers and artists, who are also young entrepreneurs, are now in the final round of the competition with nine projects. The nominees include Sarah Chaksad and Valentin Hebel, who are building a new type of music distribution platform, and Frank Imhof, who is developing a metronome that can be used to practice complex rhythms.
