Schott archive is digitized
The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek is able to realize two important projects: the start of the cataloguing and digitization of the Schott archive and the cataloguing and digitization of more than 200 valuable opera scores from the 18th century.

The Mainz publishing archive of B. Schott's Söhne was acquired by the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in 2014 together with the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, among others, thanks to the commitment of numerous third-party donors. At the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, 40 printed and engraved books from the business archive, historical letters and music manuscripts from the Safearchiv, the source holdings of the production archive (period around 1780 to 1840) and the first edition archive are being conserved, catalogued and - if in the public domain - digitized.
There are also plans to develop a comprehensive online portal for the joint presentation and searchability of all catalogs and digitized material from the Schott archive.
The 18th century manuscript opera scores of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, a collection of more than 200 works in over 400 volumes, will be cataloged, digitized and made available on the Internet over a period of three years. The extensive holdings of handwritten scores by composers such as Pietro Torri and Andrea Bernasconi, which are directly related to Munich performances, form a major focus of the collection.
