More contemporary music in the concert hall
According to the Bachtrack statistics for classical music 2022, performances of 20th and 21st century music increased significantly after 2019. Ravel's "La Valse" tops the list of most-performed concert works with 133 performances.
According to Bachtrack, the busiest German orchestra is the Berlin Philharmonic with 111 appearances (the second busiest overall), while the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic together made over 200 appearances. Andris Nelsons retains his title as the busiest conductor of 2019 - he was listed 114 times
Ravel's La Valse leads the list of the most-performed concert works with 133 performances - ahead of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, which is in second place with 115 performances. The ten most-performed operas continue to be dominated by Mozart, Puccini and Verdi.
