Honor for Rachel Portman
The English film music composer Rachel Portman will be honored for her life's work at the Tonhalle Zurich this autumn.
According to a statement from the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) becomes Rachel Portman the jury of this year's 10th International Film Music Competition at the Tonhalle Zurich. The composer will be presented with the ZFF Career Achievement Award at the ZFF on September 29. This honorary prize is awarded every year to filmmakers who have enriched the film landscape with their work.
In 1997, Portman was the first woman to win the Oscar for best film music (Emma by Douglas McGrath with Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor). She has written the music for over 100 films, television and theater productions.
Compositions can still be submitted for the 10th film music competition can be entered.
