Balance sheet of the Forum Valais 2016
Works by more than 50 composers from over 20 countries were performed at the tenth Forum Valais. The organizers counted around 5700 admissions. More than ever before.
According to the organizers, the festival has also achieved international resonance in the media - in particular thanks to an international competition for acousmatic music. The team around festival director Javier Hagen now wants to professionally process the rich documentary material from the 10-year history of the festival (video, sound recordings, photographs, essays) and compile it in an archive. The raw material is available in high quality and promises "a fascinating panopticon of the 'création musicale' in Valais on the threshold of the 21st century".
Founded in 2006, Forum Wallis is a festival for new music based in Valais/Switzerland. Since 2011, it has been under the direction of the local section of the International. Society for New Music. It gives priority to the work and international networking of contemporary Swiss and Valais musicians and composers.
