The Mendelssohn Days, which will take place for the first time in Aarau from October 30 to November 1, 2015, will provide a new perspective on Mendelssohn's musical work and his time in Switzerland (four stays in 1822, 1831, 1842 and after the death of his sister Fanny in 1847).

The Mendelssohn Days Aarau are organized by the orchestra argovia philharmonic in cooperation with the Reformed Church of Aargau, the Reformed Parish of Aarau and the Reformed Parish of Frick.

The collaboration between the director of the argovia philharmonic, Christian Weidmann, and Dieter Wagner, initiator of the Mendelssohn Days, has resulted in a festival that includes a musical city walk, a church music symposium, an exhibition in the new city museum and an international organ competition.
