City of Dresden wants to cancel Bach Festival 2016
The 91st Bach Festival of the Neue Bachgesellschaft should have taken place in Dresden in 2016. According to the "Dresdner Morgenpost", however, the city wants to withdraw its bid. SPD politicians are irritated.
The news is scandalous, writes the Dresden SPD city council faction on its website. If the city council decides that the Bach Festival of the Neue Bachgesellschaft e.V. should be held in Dresden in 2016, then this should also be implemented by the city administration.
A city of art, culture and music like Dresden in particular must realize the projects that it has committed itself to. The answer must be given in the 2015/16 double budget. Reallocations in the cultural budget are conceivable, as is increasing it.
