Hit parade also takes streaming into account

Since July 2014, usage data from the most important streaming providers (such as Deezer, Spotify, Juke and Simfy) has also been collected in the official Swiss hit parade and added to the single hit parade.

Since November 1, 1983, the market research institute GfK Entertainment AG (formerly Media Control AG) has been compiling the official Swiss hit parade on behalf of IFPI Switzerland, the industry association of music labels.

As the usage data for streams and downloads are not directly comparable, GfK Entertainment bases its new calculation on the average added value of one stream to one download. This average value is currently 178:1, i.e. for every 178 streams (ad-supported and premium) there is one download in terms of value. The blend rate is reviewed and adjusted once or twice a year.
