Where Hollywood musicians learn their craft
The top 10 schools in the film and music city of Hollywood near Los Angeles include the most important American training institutes. But there is also an elite European school among them.
If you want to make a career in the world of blockbusters, musicals and stadium concerts, you are best advised to acquire your skills at Berklee College of Music. It has the closest connections to the scene and the highest reputation. Another good address in Los Angeles is the Thornton School at USC (University of Southern California). The Herb Alpert School at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) is in fourth place.
In third and fifth to eighth place, however, are the most important schools on the East Coast: the Juilliard School in New York, the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, the Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions at New York University, the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
In ninth place is the California Institute of the Arts and in tenth place is the only European training center, the Royal College of Music in London.
