Œuvres Suisses" project completed
Over the past three years, eleven Swiss orchestras have premiered a total of 33 works by Swiss composers. The project came to a close with a Jarrell premiere.

The world premiere of Michael Jarrell's "Des nuages et des brouillards" by the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne marked the end of the three-year "Œuvres Suisses" project. Eleven Swiss orchestras each commissioned three new works from Swiss composers and premiered them.
Œuvres Suisses" was launched as a joint initiative of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and the Association of Swiss Professional Orchestras orchester.ch. Thanks to a partnership with the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), all world premieres have been recorded. About the website www.oeuvressuisses.ch all works can be listened to in full length.
The participating orchestras were responsible for financing the commissions and premieres. In return, they received contributions from Pro Helvetia towards their international touring activities and educational projects. During the project, 41 tours were realized in Europe, Asia and South and North America.
