Twelve years after the publication of the now well-established Freiburg Children's Choir Book has now been followed by a delightful collection of 100 sacred and 40 secular songs. The carefully selected compilation is very diverse in terms of style, content and instrumentation. It includes works by Homilius, Mendelssohn and Pärt as well as excerpts from children's musicals and the editorial team's own compositions.
A detailed index and short catechetical introductions make it easier to use the sacred songs for church services. In addition, implementation advice and playing instructions show development possibilities for rehearsal work. The piano accompaniments are also easy to play for children's choir leaders who have not studied, and an accompanying CD offers a first impression of the songs. The Freiburg Children's Choir Book 2 should not be missing on any shelf as a supplement to the first volume.
