35th Besson Swiss Open Contest
The participating brass bands compete for the title of "Besson Swiss Open Champion Band". In addition, a special prize of CHF 1,000, donated by Obrasso-Verlag AG, will be awarded for the best self-chosen piece and a special prize of CHF 500, donated by Musik Beat Zurkinden AG, for the best percussion register in the test piece. Five jurors evaluate the performances without contact with each other, without visual contact and without knowledge of the starting order. Each of the jurors awards a maximum of 60 points for the test piece and the self-selected piece. The highest and lowest scores are deducted, resulting in a maximum of 180 points per band for the test piece and self-choice piece and a total of 360 points.
