Protonwerk No. 14: Screen & Sound
Since our 7th Protonwerk issue, we have launched a Protonwerk "special" every two years. In this 14th edition, we are particularly pleased to present the exciting interplay between video art and contemporary music. To this end, we held two calls for entries at the same time: one for composition and one for video art. The selected composers were then given the opportunity to choose a video from a pool of art videos, which they will now set to music as part of "Screen & Sound".
Protonwerk offers young composers the opportunity to develop and perform their works in a professional environment. Close contact between composers and performers is at the heart of the ensemble's work: the musicians offer individual workshops in all phases of the creative process and rehearse the pieces with the composers in the early draft phases.
We are very much looking forward to sharing not only ear candy but also eye candy with you this time.
