Music in Exile - Escape to Exile VI

Do you know Bernhard Heiden? Wolfgang Jacobi? The "Hot Sonata" by Erwin Schulhoff? How wonderful it is to go to a concert with the feeling of discovering (as yet) completely unknown worlds of music! Especially with instruments like the saxophone, which is still quite "new" on the international stage, we can experience this privilege more and more often. Added to this is the merit of the young generation of musicians, including the Ukrainian-German saxophonist Asya Fateyeva. As the daughter of exiles, she feels a special connection to composers who - like her - shared the fate of being uprooted, such as Gershwin, whose family emigrated from St. Petersburg, or Hindemith, who had to flee to the USA and later to Switzerland due to political circumstances.
