Embedded in the silky sound of the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana, conducted by Maestro Manfred Obrecht, the passionate singer brings the stories of his arias and songs to life with gripping passion. Opera highlights by Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti and Rossini are just as much a part of the program as Neapolitan and other canzoni. Orchestral melodies by Nino Rota, Nicola Piovani and Ennio Moriccone from the films "The Godfather", "La vita è bella" and "The Mission" blend into the radiant arc of imaginary Italianità with beguiling grace.
