Joel Burkhard, Robin Kellenberger, Timon Kellenberger and Pascal Widmer - who also live together in a shared flat - won over the Prix Effort jury "with their independent, sophisticated pop music", according to the press release. The "crisp guitar riffs and driving grooves merge" with the singer's "strong voice to create unique, captivating songs", according to the statement. The prize is endowed with 10,000 francs.

Jazz musicians Nicolas Bianco, Tim Heiniger, Noah Messerli, Maximilian Nyafli, Manuel Schwab and Till Ruprecht played their way into the hearts of the jury with strong original compositions that combine groovy funk with a touch of jazz. Die Frischen Fische won a sponsorship prize worth 6,000 francs.

Saima Sägesser also receives an equally highly endowed sponsorship award for her commitment: with her "Kultur im Stöckli" project, the Langenthal native has created a unique meeting place for people and art forms of all kinds that surprises and inspires far beyond Langenthal. As a special prize this year, the Burgergemeinde is awarding a "temporary coach" to the young filmmakers of the documentary film "la feumée" (Isabelle von Graffenried, Aline Simeo Kamga, Noa Rötlisberger, Julia Tremp and Djibril Vuille).

The Burgergemeinde Bern has been awarding the Prix Effort (until last year known as the Youth Prize) to young talent in the canton of Bern every year since 1995.
