Lake Constance Conference promotes new music
The International Lake Constance Conference (IBK) has awarded its 2019 sponsorship prizes in the field of contemporary music interpretation.

The winners were selected by an international jury of experts from a total of 18 nominations. The seven prizes, each worth CHF 10,000, were presented at the Ittingen Charterhouse in Warth to: Brigitte Helbig, piano, nominated by the Free State of Bavaria, Simone Keller, piano, nominated by the Canton of Thurgau, Moritz Müllenbach, violoncello, nominated by the Canton of Zurich, Céline Monique Jeanne Papion, violoncello, nominated by the State of Baden-Württemberg, Lukas Stamm, piano, nominated by the Canton of Schaffhausen, Mateusz Szczepkowski, piano, nominated by the Canton of Schaffhausen and Irina Ungureanu, voice, nominated by the Canton of Thurgau.
The IBK's youth engagement project group has set itself the task of getting young adults more involved. To this end, it set up a parallel youth jury for the IBK sponsorship awards for the first time in 2019. This jury was able to award an additional prize of 5,000 Swiss francs from among all 18 nominations. The youth jury chose Simone Keller, nominated by the canton of Thurgau.
The IBK sponsorship prizes have been awarded annually in different categories since 1991. A maximum of seven prizes of 10,000 Swiss francs each can be awarded. The prizes are awarded to people up to the age of 40 with outstanding potential in the respective cultural field.
