The Schweizer Musikzeitung is the country's leading interdisciplinary specialist newspaper for musical, cultural and educational policy issues. It is aimed at all musically active and interested parties and, as an official or informal publication organ of musical associations and organizations, at their members. In contrast to other media, which concentrate on certain aspects of musical life, it presents it in its entirety.
Posture
The Swiss Music Newspaper provides its audience with relevant information and services. It is independent of political, economic, ideological, religious or other interest groups.
Editorial offices
Responsibility for the content is borne by several editorial teams, by an independent main editorial team and by the various association editorial teams.
The editorial offices of the musical associations work independently of the main editorial office and take into account the concerns of their organizations. They are employed by the respective association. The associations conclude a contract with the publisher/editor of the Schweizer Musikzeitung that regulates the cooperation.
The main editorial team reports independently and bases its work on the Declaration of the duties and rights of journalists and the Charter Quality in journalism.
The members of the main editorial team are employed by the publisher/editor of the Schweizer Musikzeitung.
Editorial committee
The editorial committee is an informal advisory body. Each association with which a cooperation agreement exists has the right to delegate a person to the editorial committee. The main editorial office or the publisher/editor may appoint independent persons to the editorial committee.
Publication channels
The Schweizer Musikzeitung publishes its content in printed form and on the Internet.
Languages
The Schweizer Musikzeitung publishes in German, French and Italian. The weighting of the languages is roughly based on the linguistic regional origin of the readers.
Financial resources
The Schweizer Musikzeitung is financed by advertising, subscriptions, services and patronage contributions.
