Capuçon won over the orchestra above all by conducting a concert last March, which presented works by Beethoven, Schubert and Mozart, but had to be played without an audience due to the coronavirus crisis. Capuçon is the seventh Artistic Director of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. The OCL will already be working with Renaud Capuçon next season for a concert at the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence on April 8, 2021.

Born in 1976, Renaud Capuçon studied violin at the Paris Conservatoire. His particular fondness for chamber music has led to collaborations with Martha Argerich, Daniel Barenboim, Hélène Grimaud, Truls Mørk, Frank Braley and his brother, the cellist Gautier Capuçon. In 2013, Renaud Capuçon took over the artistic direction of the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence. He plays a Guarneri del Gesù, which previously belonged to Isaac Stern and was made available to him by the Banca Svizzera Italiana.
