"Incidencias Sonoras"
As part of the Pro Helvetia South America program Coincidencia, "Incidencias Sonoras", a new platform for experimental music and sound art, aims to promote urban musical minority styles.
According to Pro Helvetia, "Incidencias Sonoras" focuses on "explorative activities to disseminate new musical languages, other forms of listening and contemporary forms of expression - such as improvisational music, free jazz, electronic, noise, sound art, electro-acoustic music, musique concrète and contemporary classical music".
Like Coincidencia, "Incidencias Sonoras" also supports various projects by South American and Swiss partners: these include exhibitions, residencies, research platforms, tours, co-productions, translations and research trips.
The projects are curated by Chico Dub from Rio de Janeiro. His areas of specialization include experimental music, avant-garde music and sound art. He is the curator of the international festival Novas Frequências, which has been held in Rio de Janeiro since 2011 and is considered the most important South American festival of its kind.
