Drumming course awarded
The German Educational Media Award "digita 2016" in the category "Private learning, over 16 years" goes to a teaching aid from Helbling-Verlag.
"The materials [...] are didactically perfectly coordinated. The mix of media allows flexible use and variable access to the content both for independent learning and in the classroom." This was the jury's reasoning for awarding the prize to Big Band Drumming. With the MusiX a teaching aid from the Helbling publishing house was already honored in 2013.
Big Band Drumming is aimed at percussionists in school big bands, music clubs, student orchestras and many other formations. Conductors and arrangers will also benefit from the knowledge imparted. This award-winning publication from Helbling Verlag provides a valuable theoretical basis in an expert theoretical section and offers extensive training material on exemplary basic styles of big band literature (swing, Latin, blues, funk) in the practical section. The focus is on the elaborately prepared video clips on the integrated DVD (total playing time: 90 minutes), which present easy-to-play basic grooves, step-by-step learning sequences, complete big band performances and animated sheet music for reading and playing along - all from the drummer's perspective and ideal for self-study. The audio CD (total playing time: 50 minutes) with its complete recordings and play-alongs also enables practicing without a DVD player.
