Under the label Fête de la musique, the Day of Music has been celebrated for years, particularly in French-speaking Switzerland. June 21 will now be the first national Day of Music in Switzerland. In Germany, the Day of Music is celebrated at the same time as the football World Cup.
One day after the opening of the Football World Cup, Germany will kick off the World Cup under the motto All in one rhythm the Day of Music from June 13 to 15, 2014 with events throughout Germany. This year's initiative emphasizes the proximity of music and sport.
The Swiss Music Council (SMR) invites all those who are organizing a concert, performance, opera, instrument exhibition, etc. on 21 June 2014, to submit this event under the label Festival of music to represent the event. They can do this, for example, by stating in the program booklet that June 21 is the Day of Music, or by placing the logo on programs, flyers, posters, etc., or by registering with as many others as possible on the Day of Music website.
