Contempo Prize for Marie-Louise Schneider
The singer and performer Marie-Louise Schneider, who has a Master's degree in Specialized Musical Performance from the FHNW School of Music, wins the Schaffhausen Contempo Prize for Culture with her project "Concert for Reading".
Schneider convinced the jury with her project, in which - due to the lack of performance opportunities during the Corona period - she put a concert into text form.
According to the FHNW press release, the jury emphasized that, as a singer and performer, Marie-Louise Schneider continues to amaze and sometimes irritate people by not allowing herself to be paralyzed by the pandemic and by fighting against the limits imposed by coronavirus. Schneider's project was also an alternative to the exuberant livestreams during Corona.
Marie-Louise Schneider has a Bachelor's degree in Music and Movement and completed her Master's degree in Specialized Musical Performance Improvisation with Andrea Neumann, Alfred Zimmerlin and Fred Frith at the FHNW Academy of Music in June 2021.
The Contempo Prize for Schaffhausen Culture has been awarded annually to an artist from the Schaffhausen region since 1993.
