The Basel Museum Kleines Klingental, the Stiftung pro Klingentalmuseum, the Hans Huber Society and others are realizing a project with an exhibition, concert series and symposium to make the artistic legacy of the composer Hans Huber accessible to a wide audience once again.

A special exhibition by the Stiftung pro Klingentalmuseum shows Huber's life, work and influence in documents, photos and musical examples. Private photos, handwritten scores, letters, historical music prints and memorabilia illustrate the musical life of Basel in his time (February 8 to August 31, 2014).

On display are loans from the Basel-Stadt State Archives, the HMB - House of History, the Basel University Library, the Stehlin Archive, Basel and the Basel Music Academy, Vera Oeri Library.

Music by Hans Huber as well as contemporary voices from eyewitnesses of the time can be heard at various stations. Photos by Hans Huber's daughter Elisabeth Huber, which show the composer during his summer vacations on Lake Lucerne and in Ticino, provide a rare insight into his private life.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a concert program featuring chamber music by and around Hans Huber performed by Basel ensembles at Klingental.

The Museum Kleines Klingental has published a brochure on the exhibition and program of events with contributions by Daniel Schneller and the two curators Sabine Sommerer and Martina Papiro. The brochure is available free of charge at the museum ticket office or at www.mkk.ch available.
